The Timekeepers of The Earls Colne Parish Clock
A video demonstrating the mechanism of the Earls Colne clock which was installed in St Andrews Church to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887. Time Team ran for 20 seasons on Channel 4/More4 from 1994 – 2014 and can now be seen on YouTube. Presented by actor Tony Robinson who explained to viewers in layman’s terms what the experts came across during their three day digs.
In 2011 the Time Team visit Earls Colne in Essex to try and uncover traces of a 12th century Priory founded by the De Vere family. Now a luxury home, the owner at that time hopes the Time team can explain many of the anomalies in the grounds.
