2026 Out and About Tours
John has a variety of tours planned for this year, most new, some revamped, but all delivered in John’s inimitable style. This post records all the dates and tours. Each month there will be a separate post of the month’s tour. The September Tour is part of the National Heritage Open Days events and therefore is free. Once again will be at the Quaker Meeting House with our ‘pop up gazebo. This years theme is ‘Every Day Histories’- Exploring daily working life through the ages –
‘The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker – what did your ancestors do, and what was their daily life like? In 2026 `Heritage Open Days’ will be exploring stories of working lives, from learning a craft to establishing routines and cherished rituals. What will you discover in our factories, kitchens, dockyards, gardens and beyond?!’
